Chikwawa-based Golden Voices Choir on Sunday launched a 10-track album Tidzakhalitsa Pakasupe at St Lawrence Secondary School Hall.

The group’s chairperson Thomson Nkhwangwa said the album launch is a fulfilment of one of their core missions to preach a message of hope.

He said: “We want to give hope to those who are hopeless as indicated in the book of Matthews 24 verse 14. We hope to achieve similar success with this album just like we had with our 2017 album, Chinangwa.”

Apart from ministering through music, the group does charity work such as constructing houses for the elderly, providing foodstuffs and clothes to other needy people.

The Kasinthula Seventh Day Adventist choir raised K900 000 from the event and Evance Kamwana, the highest bidder during the CD auction, bought a copy at K300 000.

Some of the songs in the new album include Tidzakhalitsa Pakasupe, Poyenda Mm’asautso, You Go To Love, Dziko Lino and Peace in The Valley.

The launch was supported by Theocentric Ministry from Nsanje, Philadelphia Choir from Ulongwe in Balaka, Atumwi Ake from Ndirande, Blantyre, The Survivors from Lunchenza in Thyolo, Kangaza Singers from Blantyre and two solo arists Randy Nansungwi and Innocent Chatola.

The 26-member Golden Voice Choir was established in 2008.
